Meet Amanda Flower/Isabella Alan this Fall!

pslFall means two things to me: Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Book Fair Season. Yes, I am one of the hordes who goes absolutely gaga over Starbucks’ PSL. When September strikes, I begin asking my local barista if the PSL has arrived. It officially launched on September 8th, but I got one a few days earlier at my local Starbucks. Nothing can compare to the Starbucks version of the pumpkin spice latte. I tried one by an unnamed competitor over the weekend and it wasn’t even close.

So with my PSL in hand, I face the fall and book fair season. In Ohio and in neighboring states many book fairs are held in the beautiful Midwestern autumn, and I will be appearing at several. I would love to meet you at one of the below events! If you can’t make one of these, check your local paper and see what book events are happening in your own area.

Dead Fred Goes to Bouchercon

Dead Fred and I went to Bouchercon last weekend. It was a wonderful event. I participate in the Cleveland panel, Amish mystery panel, and the Cozy in Cleveland Luncheon. The Cozy in Cleveland Luncheon hosted by the Cuyahoga County Public Library, Sisters in Crime, and Berkley Prime Crime/Penguin was the highlight of the convention for me. Congratualtions to Marjory Mogg, Kim Hammond, and the rest of the Bouchercon Planning Committee on throwing a fabulous event that made the city of Cleveland proud.

Dead Fred Goes to ACFW & Amish Gift Giveaway!

This past weekend Dead Fred and I were in Dallas, Texas for the American Christian Fiction Writers Conference. It was a wonderful weekend and one of the best writing conference that I have attended. My agent Nicole Resciniti won 2012 Agent of the Year. It was such an amazing moment, and I’m so blessed to have been a part of it. Other good things happened at the conference, but I will have to keep those under Dead Fred’s straw hat for now. I will let you know as soon as I can.

Enjoy Fred’s Photo Journal & Don’t Forget to Enter the Drawing for Amish Gifts at the end of this post.

How to Enter:

1) If you aren’t one already, become a Facebook Fan of my Author Page.
2) Comment on this post to tell me which gift you would like to win. Please only choose one.

Easy, right?

Winners will be randomly selected from those who entered. Contest ends Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012 at 5pm (EDT). Winners will be announced here on my blog on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012.

A Plain Death Book Tour Recap

Thank you to everyone who came to one of my signings over the last two months. It was a great book tour! Special thanks to B&H Publishing and all the bookstores and libraries that hosted me.

Hugs to Mary Ellis, who signed with me at a couple of stops. You should check out her books. They are wonderful portrayals of Amish Life.

It’s A Plain Death release week and to celebrate I’m giving away Amish-made gifts straight from Holmes County, Ohio. See below how you can enter.

Giveaway #1

There will be a special Amish Gift Drawing only for e-newsletter subscribers. Sign up today here! You can also sign up on my website. The prize is a magnetic note holder for your refrigerator or file cabinet. Pen and sticky notes included. I love sticky notes… you can never go wrong with sticky notes. You must subscribe to the e-newslestter by 12am July 6th to be eligible for the drawing.  The winner will be announced here on my blog Wednesday, July 11th.

Giveaway #2

Currently, we are at 470 fans on my Facebook Page.  We are so close to 500. When we reach 500, I will give away two Amish quilted gifts. The winners have a choice between the Log Cabin Quilted Wall Pouch or the Quilted Eyeglass/Cell Phone Case. The Wall Pouch is big enough to hold one trade paperback.  I bought these from my friend Anna Hochstelter’s quilt shop in Sugar Creek, Ohio. If you are ever in Sugar Creek, be sure to visit Swiss Village Quilts and Crafts on Broadway. It’s one of my favorite places in Ohio’s Amish Country. Suggest my Facebook Page with your Facebook friends to get us over the 500 hump!

Also several websites are giving away FREE copies of A Plain Death!

Destination Amish is giving away 3 copies. You can enter through their website. Giveaway ends July 5th.

Dru’s Book Musing is giving away 1 copy. You can enter through their website. Giveaway ends July 5th.
