Happy Easter

It’s Easter week! I have to admit that Easter is my favorite holiday. Of course as a Christian, the first reason is the resurrection of Jesus. I honestly don’t know where I would be without my faith to guide me through life, so Easter Day is a day of awe and gratitude for what God has done for all of us.

But there are more practical things about Easter I love too. I know this is unusual, but I like Easter even more than Christmas. This holiday doesn’t have the same pressure as Christmas. At Christmas, there is the pressure that everything must perfect. Everything must be perfectly decorate, and every gift must be perfect. Easter doesn’t have the same level of stress. There are Easter baskets to fill, but since it’s just my husband and I, I just have one to worry about and maybe a treat or two for Cheeps and Tummy, my feline editors. You will see Cheeps is ready for Easter in the photo above.

I also love Easter because it’s in the springtime where I live. For me, Easter is a time of hope. After a long cold winter in Ohio, it’s always around this time that flowers start to bloom and trees start to bud. The days are longer and sky is brighter. I feel myself coming alive as I can spend much of my time outside working in my garden or on the farm. When the weather is nice, I even write outside under a tree with my laptop.

It’s a time of renewal, which I need so very much this year. For me, this Easter as a fresh start for the rest of the year to come. I wish you a blessed Easter, Dear Readers! I also wish a blessed Passover to my readers who celebrate.

He is Risen. He is Risen Indeed.
