Tomorrow is my birthday, and I’m not shy about saying it’s one of my favorite days of the year. I think everyone should celebrate their birthday even if it’s just with a deep breath of pride that they made it another year. And what a year forty has been for me. I never for a moment thought 2020 would be such a challenging year both on the world’s stage and personally. I don’t think any of us thought that, so when your birthday comes around this year, give thanks, take a deep breath, and realize you made. Now, it’s time for the next chapter in your story.

As for my 41st birthday, I’m going to try to stay off of the computer and not work. Being a self-employed writer that is easier said than done. However, I do want and need a day off. If I am able to see friends and family, I will, but honestly, like a lot of choices we make today it depends on the ever-changing pandemic. Then in the evening, my husband is taking me out for dinner. I picked a favorite local Indian restaurant. And there will be cake; it’s required.
