The holiday cheer continues with another chance to win an ARC copy of MURDER IN A BASKET!
Here’s your chance to be one of the first to read my second novel in the Agatha Award-nominated India Hayes Mystery Series. I have three more Advance Reader Copies (ARCs) available to give away, and you can win one!
How the contest works:
Anyone who comments on my blog or my facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/authoramandaflower) with an answer to my weekly question about mystery fiction will be entered into the drawing for that week. If you post your answer in both places, you are entered twice and have a better chance to win! If you don’t win week one, don’t worry you can reenter the next week! You have three opportunities to win.

What qualities do you look for in a sleuth?

I want my sleuth to have a sense of humor and wit!
Kim
I want them to have attitude and a sarcastic sense of humor
I like a sleuth who is smart but not too smart, to have some humor and one that has some warm qualities. I prefer someone I can relate to on some level. In other words, not perfect.
I think courage and perserverance are two of the qualities.
The ability to think clearly.
I like a sleuth who is a bit quirky, has sense of humor, has pets and is loving.

I like a sleuth with personality, like India! I also like sleuths with dangerous or troubled pasts. I like to see them work out their issues while they’re sniffing out the answers (Jackson Brodie, Harry Bosch).
I like a sleuth with integrity, intelligence, compassion, and determination.
I like the sleuth to be confident, yet no arrogant, humorous and determined.
to have a good sense of humor
I like a sleuth who is immensely curious and has a strong sense of justice. If she loves cats, all the better!
I like a sleuth who cares about the underdog and justice. I also like a sleuth with an interesting personal life that is part the story..
Serious, but with the ability to see humor in any situation. The ability to find answers without going directly to a computer and using a lot of common sense.
Curiosity and a knack for finding himself/herself in the right place at the right time!
They have to be smart but also have a wicked sense of humor. I don’t like the sleuths that seem to bumble their way through everything, you just end up feeling sorry for them.
I like some intelligence but not overly smart. They have to have some weakness we can relate to and of course not guess the mystery the first time out. I love good sense of humor. Also mostly honest…they have to fudge a little bit. And loyal to their family or friends.
Thanks everyone for your great comments! I’ve enjoyed learning what you look for in a sleuth! This contest is closed, but another has begun! Check out my latest giveaway at https://amandaflower.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/murder-in-a-basket-arc-giveaway-week-three/.
Happy Holidays!
