Seymour Agency “THE CALL” Blog Hop- After the Call

TheCallBlogHopAfter signing me, Nicole Resciniti gave me a hug good-bye, and I stumbled through the mall in a confused haze. What just happened? By the time, I reached my car I was skipping and proceeded to call my mom and my closest friends. I think every conversation started with, “Holy cow! I got an agent!! A good one!”

When I returned home from Florida, I wrote a fifty page Amish mystery proposal for Nicole, and she sent it off to the publishing houses within days. A few short months later, Nicole told me that she sold not one but two Amish mystery series for me. The Appleseed Creek Mystery Series to B&H Publishing, and the Amish Quilt Shop Mystery Series to New American Library/Penguin, where I write as Isabella Alan. It was yet another literary miracle.

Since then, Nicole has negotiated two more deals for me: another to B&H Publishing to continue the Appleseed Creek Mystery Series and a new children’s mystery series, The Andi Boggs Series, to Zondervan. In less than two years, Nicole has sold fourteen books on my behalf.

There have been many times when I felt that God had a plan for me. This long and winding journey remains my greatest proof.

Amanda, I have enjoyed your postings on “The Call.” As a non-writer I am amazed at what an author goes through to get a book published. There’s a lot of hard work involved and connecting with the right agent and publisher, and a lot of prayer! Thank you for sharing your amazing story! I would love to win a copy of A Plain Death.
Wishing you many more years of writing success!
    Blessings!
